A fugitive from the UK city of Liverpool wanted over a £12 million ($18.7 million) heroin conspiracy has died in Dubai, police have confirmed. Thomas ‘Tommy’ Wynn, 49, was found dead in a hotel room in Dubai, months after skipping bail after being arrested over his alleged role in the drugs conspiracy.
A spokesman from Sussex Police said in a statement posted on its website: “A coroner in Manchester has confirmed a body repatriated from Dubai is Thomas Wynn. “Thomas Wynn, 49, from Commercial Road in Vauxhall, Liverpool, was wanted in connection with a £12m conspiracy to supply heroin from Liverpool to Brighton and Eastbourne.
His death is not being treated as suspicious.” Wynn, originally from south Liverpool, was thought to have fled to Thailand after being bailed on March 24, before then moving on to Dubai, the Liverpool Echo reported. It added that so far 11 people have been charged in the drugs investigation, codenamed Operation Wildwood. Wynn was arrested as part of an operation into vast amounts of heroin being shipped from Merseyside to the south coast. (TBW)
