Nigerian queen of songs, songwriter, newscaster, veteran actress, producer and cultural icon, Onyeka Onwenu, who died on July 30, 2024, after a performance at an event, has been buried in Lagos on Friday, August 30, 2024.
The 72-year-old singer who was last seen performing at Reddington Hospital, Ikeja, honouring Managing Director of Emzor Pharmaceuticals, Stella Okoli,
According to the arrangement, a song of service was held at the Fountain of Life Church, Ilupeju, Lagos, from 10 am to 12 noon, followed by a private burial at Ebony Vault in Ikoyi, Lagos State.
Former presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi and the Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti were among the dignitaries spotted at the burial.
She is survived by her two sons.
