A man said to be a supporter of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) party in Kogi State, Umoru Agabidu, has been shot and killed by military officers.
Reports say that the suspect had gone to a polling unit in Agala Ogane, Anyigba, Dekina Local Government area of the state, to snatch a ballot box as voting was going on.
It was alleged that Umoru was gunned down around 10:00am by military officers who were on duty at the polling unit.
According to an eye witness, Umoru forcefully grabbed the BVAS machine and smashed it on the ground in a bid to stop voting at the said polling unit.
A source reports, “This happened in my polling unit. They warned him not to carry the ballot box but he didn’t listen. He was shot by soldiers as he was about to cart away with the ballot box.“
