Nigerian Afropop star singer and songwriter, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, known professionally as Wizkid, has lost his mom, Mrs. Jane Dolapo Balogun.
She was said to have died in London in the early hours of Friday.
The incident has been confirmed by Sunday Are, Wizkid’s longtime manager.
Sunday Are also confirmed that Mrs. Balogun died in the early hours of Friday.
“Yes, she died this morning, at about 1.30 am,” Sunday Are confirmed.
This is indeed a big blow to Wizkid, because the singer and his mom shared a very tight bond, being his formidable cornerstone of strength, and he is known to always celebrate her.
Mrs. Balogun hailed from the Shitta-Bey family in Surulere, Lagos, Nigeria and obtained a degree in Social Sciences from the University of Lagos, Akoka.
She was mother to two other children, Yetunde Balogun and Lade Balogun.
