APC NEC appoints Ganduje National Chairman

Former Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje and spokesperson for the ninth Nigerian Senate, Ajibola Basiru, were on Thursday officially ratified to replace the immediate past National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Abdullahi Adamu and former National Secretary, Iyiola Omisore respectively.

The decision was taken barely an hour after President Bola Tinubu arrived at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, venue of the APC’s NEC meeting, on Thursday.

Following the announcement of their appointments, supporters of Ganduje and Basiru broke into jubilation that almost disrupt the programme temporarily.

Among the dignitaries that arrived early for the NEC meeting were Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello; former governor of Osun State and pioneer chairman of APC, Chief Bisi Akande; acting National Chairman of the party, Senator Abubakar Kyari; former Governor of Kano State, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje and Spokesperson for the ninth Senate, Senator Ajibola Basiru.
