What do you call this than an irony of fate? Left was Geneneral Muhammadu Buhari when he was sworn in as military Head of State in 1984 and the right picture was the same man in 2015 as he was sworn in as a democratically elected president. Buhari had contested unsuccessfully on three previous occasions to get a shot at presidency. Nigerians expect so much from him. (Image: LIB).
It is expected of all credible journalistic outfits, even social media ones like yours, to always strive to state actual facts, especially when referencing historical events. General Buhari was first sworn-in as Head of state in 1984, not 1983 as you stated. The coup that brought him to power took place on December 31, 1983 and he was not appointed Head of state until about 24 hours after the coup, which fell into 1984. Please be careful with historical records for the sake of our young folks.
