Nigeria’s Under-17 women football squad has failed to qualify for a spot in the final of this year’s Under-17 Women’s World Cup tournament currently going on in India.
Wednesday’s tie was a historic moment for both Nigeria and Colombia teams as it was their first Semi-final game ever in the history of the competition.
Nigeria’s Flamingos lost 6-5 to Colombia on penalties in their semi-final clash on Wednesday, October 26.
The game had ended 0-0 after regulation time, as both teams failed to score any goals.
The Flamingos will play the winner of the second semi-final match between Germany and Spain on Wednesday.
Before the game at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa, the Flamingos were runners-up in Group B of the competition. They lost to Germany in their first match, dispatched New Zealand, and defeated Chile to earn a last-eight ticket.
