Ikubabayeye, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi III, the Alaafin of Oyo, has described the leader of the pan-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, as a beacon of hope for not only the Yoruba race but for the entire country.

The royal father said on Sunday evening when he visited the nonagenarian in his Akure home, the Ondo State capital that it is not only rare but legendary that a 94-year-old is still beaming his searchlight for the progress and development of his people.

Oba Adeyemi visited Pa Fasoranti to celebrate with him on the occasion of his 94th birthday. The anniversary also featured the launch of his autobiography titled “My Life, My Legacy (Service with Integrity and Excellence).

The Afenifere leader had last week celebrated his 94th birthday with pomp and pageantry where people from all walks of life joined him in Akure to commemorate the anniversary.

Alaafin said “At that age, papa, as the leader of Afenifere, has remained purposeful in providing dynamic leadership for the Yoruba race in pursuit of the right direction to the Yoruba race. Papa has remained ageless in both physical and mental strength. It is my prayer that papa will remain young in energy for many years to come in good health.

“That Pa Reuben Fasoranti is alive and healthy today especially at this critical stage of Nigeria development to give the necessary leadership direction for our people is a special grace for Yoruba nation.
