Some women were recently caught with babies said to be ‘’a few days old.’’ It was further discovered that they specialised in selling newborns.
I want to address couples who may be moved to “find a child anyhow.” One thing I have learnt about life is that all we do are accompanied by consequences. Igbo often admonished “Kwuba aka giotoo,” meaning ‘keep your hands clean.’
I can imagine the desperation of seeking the fruit of the womb in this clime, especially when you have to contend with the ignorance of people who are quick with mockery. However, do not let your helplessness become a source of PAIN to someone else.
The news of missing babies greeting one almost on a daily basis is heartbreaking! People are even said to be scared these days to face childbirth without the presence of eagle-eyed relations.
Therefore, of utmost importance in your journey of ‘’finding a child’’ is investigating the source. Is whoever the baby is coming from happily giving it up? I am saying this because there is no way what you obtained by giving pains to another will yield joy for you. A lack of peace is what (rather) obtains in the long run. These things come home to roost.
Among the tears that reach the ears of God fast are those of a mother in sorrow and the poor unjustly treated.
Please ensure that, that ‘’bundle of joy’’ you can’t wait to give testimony about didn’t come from causing untold sorrow to another. It’s unfortunate that the secrecy surrounding these things makes it tough for people to really look into what they are dabbling into. But, it’s just as important that the baby you are eager to pass off to outsiders as yours isn’t from causing pains to the real parent(s).
Choosing ‘’not to know’’ where that baby is coming from doesn’t exculpate you from the shenanigans. This is because you have a choice to INVESTIGATE.
The Bible in James 4:17 says, “Whoever knows what is wrong and fails to do it, unto him it has become a sin.’’
This also goes to those who goad impressionable young girls into sexual recklessness to beget them a baby. Exploiting anybody’s vulnerability is just as inhumane. Nobody needs to go that route before you can help them. I have known SELFLESS deeds to bring forth the favours of God. The reality of any ‘’baby factory’’ is the exploitation of vulnerable young girls.
Most are lured into it so that you can be called a mother/father. God is not in inhumanity. The money may seem important to them now but know that you have helped to scar them for life. Most mental issues of today are caused by misdeeds of yesterday. Some of what undermines people’s mental health are overwhelming issues that they can’t even talk about. I admit that I may not understand the extent of your pain. I am sorry about the tears that your circumstances have caused you. There’s just no way that the happiness you seek by causing pain to others will become long-lasting.
I mean, genuine happiness does not sit on the sorrows of others. Life’s challenges come not to undermine us but to strengthen us. And that strength will always lie in one’s disposition to issues. It’s futile to swim against the tide of one’s life by engaging in needless struggles. Bear your cross with grace and not inhumanity.
God is in selflessness. Be patient with life. Serve humanity. Embrace your destiny. Make the other aspects of your life count. Mentor the children out there.
