According to Elombah, the Director of Media and Publicity of the PDP Presidential Campaign Organization, Chief Femi-Fani Kayode has lashed out on Rivers State Governor and Director General APC Presidential Campaign Organization, Rotimi Amaechi on his facebook page.
Fani Kayode was hitting back at Amaechi for speaking about his father at the APC town hall meeting in Abuja earlier today.
He said his father moved a motion for the Independence of Nigeria, while Amaechi’s father was a poor palm wine tapper.
According to Fani Kayode, “I hear that Rotimi Amaechi was talking about my father and his father today at the APC town hall meeting in Abuja.
“The difference between his father and my father is that his father was a palm wine-tapping peasant whilst mine was the man that successfully moved the motion for Nigeria’s Independence. The difference is clear.”
This is not the first time both men will engage each other verbally.
Amaechi had earlier dismissed Fani Kayode as a man that lacks credibility.
Reacting, Fani-Kayode ridiculed Amaechi saying that he knew the governor when he used to wear one outfit for three consecutive days.
“Wait, who is talking about credibility here? he quipped.
“Is it Amaechi that was wearing same cloth for over three months or another one?
“This is the man that became a governor without winning any election; the same man that shut all the courts in his state for one year for fear of being impeached.
“People like Amaechi should be arrested and jailed for corruption.”
Fani-kayode insisted that the APC was planning to rig the forthcoming election, adding that rigging was habitual with the opposition party,” Fani Kayode Said.
Both men got entangled in an exchange of verbal punches on TV set while they were guests on Channels Television.
Amaechi who appeared first on Channels Television while responding to a question which quoted Mr. Fani-Kayode as alleging that the APC was planning to rig forthcoming elections.
He said, “Fani-Kayode does not have credibility. If the right person speaks, then we will respond. Fani-Kayode lacks the credibility. Let’s move to other issues.”
A visibly angry Fani Kayode who later came on air responded that Amaechi was not on the same intellectual and social level with him.
He said, “Perhaps, it is only in Nigeria that a man with his background, in spite of the things he did when he was young; in spite of the things he did when he was in the university, could become a governor.
“By the way he became governor without even winning an election.”
“That’s a man who talks about credibility. That’s a man who claimed pastors in this country were given 6 billion by the government to vote for the PDP.
“This is a man that went as far as to say if the APC lost the presidential election he would form a parallel government.
“This is a man that told the whole world that as far as he was concerned he was prepared to do anything to become the vice presidential candidate of the APC,” Mr. Fani-Kayode said. (Elombah).
A palmwine tapper with honor is better by far than a an Oxford or Cambridge educated genius turned traitor like some brilliant sons who out of the fear Of Being sent to prison for past misdeeds are now greedily swallowing their vomit. A true Yoruba knows that iku ya ju esin. Honor is by far better than lofty offices and all the rewards from corrupt masters.
