Nigerian reggae music legend, Majek Fashek will be buried in New York, United States where he died.
Majek Fashek’s first child with his ex-wife, Rita, made the announcement in a video shared on Monday August 10.
He thanked the musician’s fans and well-wishers for their love and support, and further revealed that they were forced to take the decision of burying the late reggae icon in New York due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
Recall that Majek Fashek died on June 1, 2020 at the age of 57 while battling esophageal cancer and the family of Late Majek Fashek made a public plea for financial assistance to fly home the remains of the deceased reggae legend.
Former member of the House of Representatives, representing Egor/Ikpoba Okha Federal Constituency and music enthusiast and owner of U&I Records, made the call on behalf of the family at the time. He directed people to pay donations into the account of Majek’s son.
