Buhari on a working or medical trip to London?

According to Pointblanknews, reports suggest that the All Progressive Congress, APC, Presidential candidate, General Mohammadu Buhari has traveled to the United Kingdom to seek medical attention.

But the APC in a Press Statement said its Presidential Candidate is on a “working visit to the U.K.”

A Security source attached to the APC Presidential candidate told Pointblanknews.com that General Buhari, 72, left a board a British Airways this morning.

The source who does not want to be named said the APC Presidential candidate has not been too healthy and was advised to seek medical attention overseas.

According to the source, party officials were advised to keep the issue ofthe health situation of the retired General under wraps so as not to jeopardize the campaign and chances of the party at the March 28 polls.

The source said media managers of the APC campaigns were advised to issue Press Release on Buhari’s trip but should not mention his health challenges.

The APC Presidential Media Department later issued a statement claiming the Presidential Candidate has left for the United Kingdom on a working visit.

The statement issued by Mallam Garba Shehu said General Buhari would be having meetings with key members of the “British Political establishment.” He did not name the personalities.

Shehu also said the APC Presidential candidate “would hopefully give a talk” at the Chatam House.

Buhari is alleged to be suffering from prostrate cancer.

The APC Statement reads:
The Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), General Muhammadu Buhari today (Thursday) left Abuja on a short working visit to the United Kingdom.

In the course of this visit, General Buhari is expected to hold meetings with key members of the British political establishment and interact with some global institutions with stakeholder interest in the affairs of Nigeria.

General Buhari would hopefully give a talk at the prestigious foreign policy hub, the Royal Institute of International Affairs, Chatam House in London. (Source: Pointblanknews).
