Hundreds of voters’ and national identity cards have been seized from some foreigners in a renewed crackdown on irregular migrants across the country ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
This was announced this afternoon by the Comptroller General of Immigration Service, David Shikfu Parradang. The Immigration boss disclosed in a statement issued in Abuja by Service Public Relations Officer, Chukwuemeka Obua (ACI), that the seizures were made “in Sokoto, Jigawa and Zamfara states following an ongoing nation-wide mop-up operation against irregular migrants across the country ahead of the forthcoming general elections.”
He gave the breakdown as follows:
