The Lagos state Gubernatorial candidates of the All Progressive Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party, Akin Ambode and Jimi Agbaje, have signed a pact to ensure they don’t engage in violent activities ahead of the April 11 governorship election in the State.
Ambode and Agbaje signed the deal at the official residence of the United States Consul-General in Lagos, Jeffrey Hawkins, in the presence of the U.S. Ambassador to Nigeria, James F. Entwistle.
Some religious leaders also served as signatories to the document, including the Catholic Archbishop of Lagos, Archbishop Alfred Adewale Martins; the National Missioners of Ansar-ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, Imam Abdulrahman Ahmad; the Senior Pastor of House on the Rock, Pastor Paul Adefarasin; and the National Missioners of Fatil-ul-Qareeb Islamic Society, Sheikh Abdurrahman Adangba.
