Proudly Yoruba posted online some pictures of Fela’s mother, Madam Olufunmilayo Ransome Kuti, Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe, Yoruba kings and chiefs as an entourage to London reportedly in 1947 to seek independence from Britain.
Proudly Yoruba did the posting in September 2016 and wrote:
“The year 1947 when Olufunmilayo Kuti (Fela Mama) led an entourage of Yoruba Kings, Royals and Chiefs plus Nnamdi Azikwe to London on a major quest for independence from British colonial rule. Fela was right when he said, “She is the only mother of Nigeria.”
