Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested a party agent in Benue State with millions of Naira rumoured to be the agent of the Benue State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Emmanuel Jimeh.
The EFCC, which posted a picture of the seizure, said in a Facebook post that the suspect was arrested in Makurdi.
EFCC wrote, “At the North Bank Area, Makurdi, a man was caught with large bags containing lots of money. While trying to arrest him, officers of the Commission were attacked and patrol vehicles vandalized.”
Information however gathered shows that the money may have been traced to Emmanuel Jimeh, the gubernatorial candidate of the APC in Benue state.”
