In spite of his troubles in the hands of the security agencies and the many criminal cases hanging on his neck, Senator Dino Melaye has emerged the winner in Saturday’s National Assembly election for Kogi West Senatorial District Conducted in the State.
The Senator who dumped APC for the PDP in the midst of troubles is flying the flag of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and has defeated his close rival Smart Adeyemi of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
He polled a total of 85,395 votes to defeat his APC opponent who scored 66,902 votes.
Kogi West Senatorial District which comprises of seven Local Govt Areas namely: Lokoja, Kogi/Koton Karfe, Mopa Amuro, Kabba/Bunu,
Ijumu, Yagba East, Yagba West saw Melaye winning 6 LGAs out of 7.
