The emergency meeting of the National Assembly which was scheduled to hold on Tuesday has been cancelled.
Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yussuff Lasun, said that the meeting cannot hold because of the situation at the National Assembly.
Security officials had on Tuesday morning occupied the premises of the National Assembly.
The masked officials of the Department of State Services (DSS) arrived at the National Assembly very early barricading the entrance to the complex.
Lawmakers and members of staff of the National Assembly were prevented from entering the premises.
Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, had on Monday called an emergency meeting of the leadership of the Upper and Lower chambers of the National Assembly.
The decision of the meeting was taken days after some lawmakers called for the reconvening of the assembly in order to attend to some urgent matters of state. (Channelstv)
