Reports coming in say that the Benue State Speaker, Terkimbi Ikyange has been impeached by the House of Assembly members.
Terkimbi Ikyange, representing Ushongo state constituency, was impeached at the plenary on Tuesday.
23 out of the 30-member parliament impeached Mr Ikyange.
Incidentally, all the 23 members belong to the Peoples Democratic Party, fueling speculations that Mr Ikyange’s impeachment was because he had become a minority Speaker.
Hon. Titus Uba representing Kyan constituency vandeikya is now the new Speaker while Hon. Terna-kester Kyenge is the Chief Whip.
