Former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, Hon Justice Aloysius Iyorgyer Katsina-Alu, has been reported dead.
The former Chief Justice was said to have died on Wednesday morning at the age of 76. He would have been 77 in August.
Katsina-Alu, an indigene of Benue state, was Chief Justice of Nigeria from December 2009 until he left office in August 2011 upon hitting 70, the age of retirement for Nigerian Supreme Court justices.
Before his retirement, he was locked in crisis with Justice Ayo Salami who was at that time, the president of the Court of Appeal.
Details about his death are still sketchy at the time of filing this report.
