An ex-Military Administrator of Kaduna State, Col. Abubakar Dangiwa Umar (Retd.), has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to suspend the refund of the second tranche of the Paris-London Club payment to the various state governments of the federation.
In a statement issued in Kaduna on Monday, Umar said: “It is now revealed that some state governors contracted consultants with fees ranging from 10 to 30 per cent to secure refund from the Federal Government of Nigeria.”
Col. Umar said: “With this shocking revelation, President Muhammadu Buhari should suspend his order to the Federal Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for the release of the second tranche of the refund.
“It is also evident now that most of the earlier released funds were deployed for other purposes than payment of salaries and pension arrears as directed by Mr. President. This impunity has got to stop.”
Welcome to Nigeria..Col! It took you this long to realuze this is what goes on in the country? Now, let’s see how long it will take you to embrace the 10, 20, or 30 percent that bank managers and managing directors charge to give you a loan.
