‘My days in jail serves as punishment for sleeping with a married man’ -Stephanie Otobo

Uncategorized
Stephanie Otobo, the woman who alleged that she was having an affair with the founder of Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Suleman (which he denies), says going to prison for almost a week was her own punishment for sleeping with the married pastor.
Stephanie who will be addressing a press conference this morning, fulfilled her bail condition and regained her freedom after she had been remanded in police custody at Ikoyi prison since Friday last week. Speaking to the press after her release, Stephanie said going to prison has made her closer to God
“Yes, I went to prison and I think that was my own share of punishment for rolling with a married man after knowing he was married. That was not the right thing to do. But I believed him because when a superior person that you look closer to God through tells you something, I would think he is right because he is like closer to God because what do I know” she said.
She says in the midst of all the scandal, she wants only the truth to come out.
“I want the truth to come out. Nothing but the truth and people need to know who he really is. Is he a true man of God or he is just using women” she said.

  1. My brother; do we know, for sure, that this is
why she was put in jail? Or, is this HER version of
events? As people often say, in every event involving two [or more] people, there is always ” YOUR version; MY version:
    AND THE TRUTH !!……….hmmmmm

  2. My God what kind of a country are Nigerians running? Why in the world would they arrest this woman and put her in jail? For sleeping with a married man? When did sleeping with a married spouse become a crime?

In the preceeding articles on this issue, I have defended the pastor when Ms. Otobo was calling for his arrest; I said that a man or woman extra-marital affairs is never a crime in any modernn society and therefore, the pastor should never in danger of being arrested. I blamed Ms. Otobo for knowingly having an affairs with this man, knowing who he was and turning around to want money.

I would equally defend Ms. Otobo on being arrested. Both of these individuals have committed any crimes and should never have arrested or threatened to be arrested in the first place. Unless any one of them engaged in “extortion or blackmail.” If none of them was involved in either of the situations, then, Nigerian police should never have been involved. The police should concentrate on people that actually commit crimes – kidnappers, body parts killers, their fellow officers that aid and abate criminals, etc. The only thing these two did was to “play” adult contact game and forgetting the concept of “i dey sweet me, i dey sweet me, who go pay!” That is all.

The idea of arresting and putting a woman in jail for having marital affairs with a powerful preacher is very disturbing and sounds like the entire society has gone “Sharia.”

No matter her unacceptable and unwelcomed behavior, she did not commit any crimes and therefore should never have been arrested; neither should he.
