The President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, has instituted a law suit against the Lagos state Governor, Babatunde Fashola over the state government’s plan to demolish the Lagos branch of his church, Word of Life Bible Church, situated on Plot 21E, Abdulrahman Okene Close, off Ligali Ayorinde Street Victoria Island Annex.
It is not funning that these days, powerful Christian Ministers are putting their spiritual powers aside in favour of the use of temporal power to preserve their properties.
So, you think the Pastor should just pray and Fashola would not demolish his church? How preposterous! Did Fashola offer to pay the fair market value for the property or is he using eminent domain authority to demolish it? If not, why shouldn’t the Pastor seek protection through the court?
