The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has released a former Special Adviser to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati.
According to a Punch report, Abati was released around 8pm yesterday (Friday). Abati revealed further that his bail has been processed and the paper work will be completed by Monday.
However, he was made to surrender his Nigerian and international passport to the Commission. Abati was arrested last week following allegations that he received N50m from the Office of the National Security Adviser for unstated reasons.
It is not yet clear how much he returned to the agency or if at all he returned any money.
