This is Osumare club, a part of Ibadan in the early 60s. According to Lailas, the Osumare club was located somewhere between Kingsways and Mbari.

A very glorious reminiscence. If my youthful recollection serves me correctly, Osumare club was part of the complex of present-day Cocoa House, a long shot from Mbari at Adamasingba, across from the old post office. Did it have a swimming pool? Yes, I think, and a lot snacks: sausage rolls, pina collada/mirinda/fanta, meat pies for us then, strictly no alcohol for youths. You’d always meet a friend of dad’s who would pay for your snacks. Wonder what it’s like these days under a different name. The persons walking by must be coming from/towards Oke Bola side around J. Allen. Ibadan was great at the time. The epicentre of Western region’s socio-cultural civilization. Politically, public disorder of inter-tribal nature was never heard of except during later years’ election campaigns. God save Nigeria.
