Saraki, Ekeweremadu’s forgery trial couldn’t proceed, having not been served court papers

Uncategorized

The arraignment of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki and his Deputy, Ike Ekweremadu before an Abuja High court today on a two-count charge bordering on conspiracy and forgery of the Senate Standing Rules during the senate leadership election in 2015, has been stalled as court officials say both men have not been properly served their court summons.

Saraki, Ekweremadu, former Clerk of the National Assembly, Salisu Abubakar Maikasuwa and his deputy, Benedict Efeturi, are being accused of forging the senate standing rule that helped Saraki and Ekweremadu emerge leaders of the senate last year.
