The Osun State House of Assembly has announced the death of its member, Oladejo Makinde. Until his death, the late Makinde was the minority leader of the House.
Oladejo Makinde, who represented Ife Central Constituency, died on Sunday afternoon at Ekiti State Teaching Hospital, during an undisclosed illness. Makinde, a member of Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was former chairman of Ife Central Local Government Area of the state.
His corpse has been deposited at Ekiti State Teaching Hospital mortuary. The Chairman, Osun Assembly Committee on Information and Strategy, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, confirmed the development.
Oyintiloye said members received the news with a rude shock, noting, however, that the late Makinde was one of the assembly’s pillars, who contributed meaningfully to the state’s political development.
Osun state chairman of PDP, Alhaji Gani Olaoluwa, confirmed Makinde’s death and also disclosed that he died of health complications.
