According to Vanguard, the anti-graft agency is keen on interrogating the emir, who was removed as head of the apex bank by former President Goodluck Jonathan, on the numerous disbursement of funds to the office of the former NSA during his tenure.
The commission is reportedly weighing two options available to it – either to invite Emir Sanusi or arrange a private meeting with him where he would shed more light on funds moved from the bank to the former NSA during his tenure and why such disbursements were never questioned or declined by him.
The commission it was learnt, was keen on getting firsthand information from the emir but is treading cautiously so as not to raise any eyebrow or bring it into trouble with any individual or group.
It was further learnt that the commission’s top officials are already in Kano and would possibly try to seek an avenue to meet with the emir to iron out grey areas quietly and return to Abuja. (Vanguard Ngr)
