According to Daily Sun, Ilesa town in Osun State yesterday, erupted in pandemonium when a policeman allegedly killed two siblings of the same parents with an Armour Personnel Carrier (APC).
Daily Sun gathered that the incident occurred at Egbedi in Ilesa-West Local Government Area of the state.
It was also gathered that the driver of the APC car used in curbing crime in the state was allegedly drunk, drove recklessly and rammed into an electric pole before hitting the two kids who were playing in front of their father’s house.
The elder of the victims simply identified as Sade, aged 5 and the younger, Anu, aged 3, were said to have died on the spot, while the driver drove away immediately.
Daily Sun further reports that the development forced some commercial motorcyclists otherwise called Okada riders to chase the vehicle, but could not catch up with him as he was said to have escaped towards Osu road.
Frustrated, the mob, thereafter, unleashed terror on the ‘A’ Division Police Station at Ayeso and vandalised all operational vehicles parked at the station and also destroyed other valuable properties at the station. No arrest was made during the melee.
The father of the kids who were said to have gone to the farm early in the morning returned only to be told of the incident and went to the police station immediately but could not make any head way in securing the release of the corpse of the kids despite the assistance of his lawyer.
When contacted, the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mrs Folasade Odoro, confirmed the incident and described it as an accident.
