According to the AfrAsia Bank New World Wealth Report from a recent survey, Nigeria’s three richest cities – Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt – now boasts over 11,000 millionaires in United States dollars.
“The top African cities for millionaires”, just published by AfrAsia Bank New World Wealth Report, shows that Lagos has 9,100 dollar millionaires, thus placing third behind Johannesburg, South Africa, with 23,400 individuals holding net assets worth at least $1 million; and Cairo, Egypt, which boasts 10,200 dollar millionaires.
Abuja, the Nigerian capital, is placed 18 with 1,000 dollar millionaires, while Port Harcourt also has 1,000 dollar millionaires but is rated number 19 in the list of 28 African cities.
The report puts the total number of dollar millionaires in Africa at 163,000, with Dakar (Senegal), Kinshasa (DR Congo) Bamako (Mali) and Marrakesh (Morocco) bringing up the rear with 500 dollar millionaires each.
